About Peter

Peter was born to an unwed mother who already had children. Peter's biological father saw by the time he was 18 months old that something was wrong. Peter has microcehpaly, enlarged spleen, and is completely deaf. He kicked Mother & child out of the house and banished them from his presence.
Peter's mother did everything she could to feed and care for this child. In the end it was not enough. She signed her parental rights over to an orphanage. Peter was found severely malnourished and very ill with Malaria and hepatitis-A.

Global Orphan Outreach is an organization that serves the destitute and the ill in Liberia. The group found Peter and immediately filed for an emergency medical Visa to the USA.

in May 2011 Peter was flown to MN and received emergency medical treatment for his urgent medical needs.

Because of the severe damage to Peter's liver & spleen the Dr’s who treated Peter in Minnesota have said it is a death sentence to send him back to Liberia, where malaria is rampant, they felt his body was too weak from his multiple issues to withstand another infection.

Malaria is VERY common in Liberia and other third world countries. Thanks to MalariaNoMore.org for the educational materials about Malaria!

Peter has shown amazing progress in the time he has been in the USA, he has learned to walk, and has gained 10 pounds! He is vibrant, happy and healthy for now.

Peter's Medical Visa expires in August, when we as a family must return with him to appear in the courts to petition to adopt him. We have from now until June 21st to raise $16,000.00.
